Error:

A serious error has occurred in Microsoft Backup. Quit Microsoft Backup and all other running programs, restart Backup and then try again. If the problem persists, try re-installing Backup.

Cause:

This error occurs when restoring a Backup spanning multiple diskettes by clicking 'Start Restore' and then clicking 'Cancel' when the 'Preparing Restore Operation' message displays. Microsoft Corporation has confirmed this to be a bug in Windows 95.

Solution:

Wait until Backup prompts for the first disk before canceling the 'Restore' procedure to avoid the error message, or click 'OK' when the error message appears to cancel the restore.
